OUR PROJECTS
Headstart Youth Action
Oxygen are delighted to be delivering the Headstart Action programme in partnership with London Youth and The Mayor of London. Headstart Action is a social development programme targeted at young people who are at risk of becoming NEET and require greater support to be in education, employment or training. Through social action, the programme supports young people to gain employability skills, aid their personal development and gain work experience.
Oxygen Shop
The Oxygen shop is located at 117 High St, New Malden. We are a high end charity shop, with an ethical and ecological, stance which directly supports work with local young people in the Royal Borough of Kingston and surrounding areas.
Kingsnympton
We run a youth group at Kingsnympton Youth and Community Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30. Sessions are open to young people aged between 8-16
Mentoring
Do you want to do something to help a young person? We are looking for volunteers to mentor young people.
We all struggle with life at some point, but young people need our help, encouragement and support to the overcome the challenges we are facing. At Oxygen we are adapting our services to engage with those who are most in need and show them they are valued, loved and that we believe they can make a difference.
Street Pastors
Kingston Street Pastors was set up as an Oxygen project almost 10 years ago by Oxygen trustees in partnership with local churches and has helped thousands of adults and young people and those suffering from homelessness, addiction and mental health issues.
Digital Youth Work
Join our minecraft server! The server is open everyday from 9am-10pm and we run weekly sessions on a Wedneday. We also hvae a Discord server where young people can chat to each other and youth workers.
RM1
RM1 is our after school club at Coombe Boys School. The sessions run from 3-5pm after school and it is designed too give the boys time to build positive relaltionships, develop skills in leadersip and socialisation while having fun with games, sports and life skills activities
Whats the Point
What’s the point? is a peer led education project designed to facilitate young people’s learning of a variety of perspectives on knife crime. Young people gain an understanding of the impact of carrying a knife and can consider their own response and stance on the issue. They examine a range of constructs including the value of life, death, right and wrong, relationships, trust, loyalty, identity and explore the factors which influence their thoughts and decisions.
